The 3rd and 4th round of the Formula V6 Asia race were ran as a support race to the Super GT Championships in Sepang International Circuit in June this year. The Formula V6 cars looks like Formula 1 cars, open cockpit and carbon fibre. They are equipped with a 3.5 litre engine developing close to 400bhp, HANS system, left-foot braking, steering wheel-mounted sequential gearshift and wheel restraints.

The drivers are mostly from Asian countries, namely Malaysia, Hong Kong, Inda, Indonesia, Australia and Singapore. This serves as a stepping stone to Formula GP2 and Formula 1.

The race on weekend spanned over 3 days of the Super GT weekend, with Qualifying on Friday, Race 1 and 2 on Saturday and Race 3 and 4 on Sunday. Australian driver Ro Charlz of Dyna Ten Motorsports too the pole in qualifying, with teammates Hamad Al Fardan Brunei in 2nd and Mark Williamson from Australia too on 3rd.
