Circuit@Tuas is a dirt biking track just opposite Raffles Marina at Tuas West Drive, behind the Tuas Interchange.

We went there on a bright and sunny Sunday morning which quickly became cloudy, then overcast and started to pour. When we left at 1230pm, the rain had stopped. Met the Nikon shooters there at 9am for briefing and collected 4 bottles of mineral water and a Nikon vest. Poisonous toys which Nikon provided for our free testing include 4 x DSLR D3, 1 x DSLR D700 , AF-S NIKKOR 600mm f/4G ED VR, AF-S NIKKOR 400mm f/2.8G ED VR,  AF-S 400mm f/2.8D IF-ED II, AF-S 300mm f/2.8D IF-ED II and my personal favourite AF-S VR 200-400mm f/4G IF-ED.

Although the racing was supposed to start at 9am, it did not start till 10+, timing for these events are usually very relac. While waiting for things to happen, we spent some time chit chatting and getting our equipment ready, eg. Playing with the D3 and all the long lenses.

When the action starts, shooting with the D3 is a breeze. Dynamic autofocus is so accurate, you do not need to change focus points. Just set to AF-C for this, set to dynamic focus point and press the shutter, bang bang bang….every shot is PIN PIN Sharp.

After this session, it further confirms the my NEED for a 200-400VR. It’s more versatile and handholdable and not as heavy as a 400 f/2.8, longer then 300 f/2.8.

Here goes some of the pictures…
